So much goes on at SXSW in Austin, TX., that it can seem overwhelming at times, but in a good way… After our 24 hour non-stop road trip across half of the country we safely arrived in the music capital of the world for the week of March 12-18. With over 400 concerts a day, ridiculous surprise appearances, good old Texas BBQ, and more opportunities for connections and networking than ever imaginable.
The first night we saw The Nice Guys, A.Dd+, Future, Hopsin, Danny Brown, and surprise guest Mobb Deep Prodigy. Mobb Deep definitely made the night, especially with some old hits like “Got it Twisted” and “Outta Control”.
Wednesday, made our way to Big K.R.I.T, and had a blast getting the chance to hear tracks from his new album live in concert. This dude has so much energy and puts on a great show. Later that night, the rest of the team got to see 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Slaughterhouse, and a huge surprise guest Kanye West.
Team Live Music City attended a once in a life-time event, experiencing an unforgettable session with keynote speaker “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen himself. He shared his musical influences throughout his life and giving advice and inspiration to all attendees. With some words of wisdom “The Boss” emphasized to us to “Create your own equation and have some fun” and that there’s “No right way of doing it”. He closed the talk with having the entire audience sing “This Land Is You Land”, which brought tears to some.
Later, we enjoyed quite an array of performances from Machine Gun Kelly, Fun, Dev, Of Verona, Santigold, The Wallpapers, Walk, Chiddy Bang, Tom P, Kimbra, Gary Clark Jr., Walk the Moon, and DJ Pauly D.
The night continued with me winning a ticket to see Bruce Springsteen live in concert. Its like he’s never aged and ripped the stage apart. I met up with the rest of the team and got to see one of the best hip-hop shows yet, Lil Wayne, who brought out Chanel, Bow Wow, Cory Gunz, and to top it off Birdman.
Much more to come, so stay tuned….

Felix the Hat,
Live Music City, high hopes!
