Reminds me of all the high school parties we used to go to, oh so many years ago. Here’s Eternal Summers with “You Kill”.

Time’s All Gone is Nick Waterhouse‘s debut album that is available today. From the album, “Some Place” is available to hear now, and wow, am I loving the down south scratchiness it latches onto, with tapping keys in the back, horns that amplify the song, and that jazzy sax which brings everything together. Oh, and how could I leave out the perfectly placed guitar solo. Another song that I think belongs on the next Quentin Tarantino movie soundtrack, again just suggesting it for the third Kill Bill movie.

I just read about Beck and how he will be at Outside Lands this summer, but was wondering if he would share any new projects before August. I mean, he’s one of the most gifted musicians out there, and I’d be perfectly content to see him perform all of his old stuff, which we grew up on, but Beck likes to surprise his fans. “I Only Have Eyes For You”, is a classic Doo-Wop song which was made famous by the Flamingos in the late 50′s early 60′s. Beck has covered “I Only Have Eyes For You”, keeping it rather close to the original, although making it his own just by providing all of the vocals. I never knew had such a smooth and genuine vocal range, I hope he does more singing coming up, on whatever else he is working on. This version will be the soundtrack to a 360 degree video projection art display, that will encompass the outside of Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC.
I best remember “I Only Have Eyes For You” from one of my favorite movies, A Bronx Tale. It would come on when “C” was around a girl he considered to be “the one”. Remember?

M. Ward has done a fascinating job with his new track “The First Time I ran Away”, which will be on his new album Wasteland Companion due out April 4. Sit back, relax, and check out this animated video.
