One of the best performances at High Sierra this year- Delicate Steve

Such a different but an unforgettable, genius sound that Delicate Steve has created. The name doesn’t give them justice, because delicate is far from what their music is, maybe that’s the irony. They had seemed to overlap their voice recordings as they went along, but were far from just an electronic project. It was almost as if they had taken so many different genres and combined them to make… well to make only the music that Delicate Steve can. Here’s some more pics from this years High Sierra Music Festival.

Here are some great photos from the Grandstand (the main/biggest stage at High Sierra) of Surprise Me Mr. Davis. With an amazing pianist, who scrambled from keyboard to keyboard, Marco Benevento , plus the vocals of singer/songwriter Nathan Moore, (both from Of Slip , rocked our socks off. Check out the pics of Surprise Me Mr. Davis.

The band is the Mike Dillon Band, but I had my eye on one of the most amazing trombonist I had ever seen, Carly Meyers. Mike Dillon was ridiculously talented on the xylophone, and with the rest of the band, they made some pretty unforgettable acid-rock music with an unmistakable jazz influence in there. Hope you like the pics from, High Sierra

See You at High Sierra Music Festival Next Week, July 5-8

Pretty damn excited about next week, and all the adventures that are to come with the countless hours of music, people, and enthusiasm that High Sierra is known for and has to offer. As far as what I refer to as “hippie fests”, this will be the first of the two this summer for me (second is Burning Man, later in August). Might I add that I am a virgin to both festivals, but through my younger brothers, have seen that there is a calling for me to attend such festivities with them. Although the two festivals don’t even really begin to compare to one another, one more about music/art and the other more about building a community, I think you get my point… The anticipation is killing me, I have only heard wondrous stories about the remarkable sets that I will see… but, I’m finally doing it…

and hoping to have footage to show when I come back. Hoping not to noodle, but you never know what good music brings back…
Check below for the lineup at this years 22nd Annual High Sierra Music Festival.
