A up and coming talented duo from California, Amarante has a great mellow folk sound with melodic vocals.”The Manic” is from their new album “Udana Prana”. I think this song will stay in my daily playlist for a while.

Allen Stone – Unaware
Was just enjoying some of Allen’s music today and realized some of you might not know who he is. Never judge a book by it cover is proven in full force when you listen to the soul music that comes out of this man’s mouth. I had the pleasure of catching a small crowd acoustic session that he did at last years Outside Lands show at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I couldn’t help but stand there mesmerized, he was and is amazing. FYI Allen started singing at age three in church because he was the son of a preacher man but didn’t start singing soul until he was a teenager.
Mama’s Lessons by Elaine Faye and the Big Bang
Elaine Faye and The Big Bang remind me of the fun, poppy side of Amy Winehouse. They made a lot of buzz last year with their song “Get Back Up,” which was on several hit TV shows. I really dig this one. I’m going to have to make it to LA to catch them live.
SOLANGE – LOSING YOU
A slow yet strangely addictive song from singer Solange from the album “True” which was released at the end of November 2012 under the Terrible Records label. FYI You probably know Solange is Beyoncé’s little sister but did you know Terrible Records was started by members of the popular band “Grizzly Bear”.
