A light hearted song that makes me want to go out to the park, I really don’t know what else to say. From their album “Birthmarks” which was released today and is something I’m going to waste my late night hours on for sure. Well let me know what you think of it.
The new single from a band that I find hard for anyone to not love. Im really digging this folk/americana music movement as long as it stays pure but we all know how that goes. Either way Im still enjoying it for now, good work guys.
This band recently caught my attention with the song “Love Like This” which I have only been able to find versions filmed on phones with obvious quality issues, so I give you the second best thing. A great video and song by Kodaline from their EP “High Hopes” coming out on March 17th 2013. Their full album “A Perfect World” is due out June 10th 2013. Ill keep an eye out for that other video and post it as soon as I find it. FYI This great rock quartet is based out of Dublin Ireland.
If you like hairy women and doors that go nowhere then your going to love this video. FYI Also the lead man for My Morning Jacket, Jim will be a speaker at SXSW as well as perform with The Flaming Lips which hold a dear place in my heart.
A delightful song from phosphorescent’s new album “Muchacho” due out in March 2013. FYI Matthew Houck who makes up this one man plus guests, was born in Alabama and began working and recording in Georgia which has defiantly come through in his soulful sound. He is currently lives and works in New York, New York.
I know this is an old song but I had never heard this amazing acoustic version until just the other day so I figured I would share it. A song so beautiful that it makes me miss some of the loves of my life. FYI Colin Meloy(The Decemberists) has the same birthday as my father(October 5).
Tall Heights will be releasing a 5 song EP October 2, The Running of the Bulls. From the sounds of “I Don’t Know, I Don’t Know”, the first one released today, the project should be harmoniously bright, as Tim Harrington and Paul Wright, feed off of each other’s energy and produce this genuine sound. If you haven’t heard them before, make sure to watch this video of their small live performance… you’re going to love it!
After attending this year’s High Sierra Music Festival, I had met some folks (long time festival goers), who turned me on to what they referred to as “The best music festival of the year”, Hangtown Halloween. So you can imagine with little over a month away, and after just returning from Burning Man, I am overly excited to experience a weekend full of spectacular live music, dancing, and good people. This year Railroad Earth will be hosting the festival, while giving three performances throughout the weekend.
Besides looking forward to the entire festival blowing my mind, I can’t wait for a particular highlight, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and their tribute to the Beastie Boys… this should be quite the show!Tickets are still available, so grab them while you can (link below), check out the full lineup for 2012 and catch the video footage from last year’s Hangtown Halloween below. So grab a few costumes, your tent, and I’ll see you there!
