A buddy just showed me some of Girl Talk‘s music, and its a damn good mix of some of our favorite music. He mimxes rap and rock, past and present hits, and does it quite well. Seeing Girl Talk live, I imagine, would be sick, everyone singing along, and having this common bond over music we all know. Enjoy!

So cool that two bands we grew up with, have created such masterpieces for this summer’s upcoming ultimate superhero, action movie, The Avengers. We have already been graced with a preview of Soundgarden‘s contribution to the soundtrack last month, “Live to Rise”, as well as the full song today. Now we hear that Scott Weiland, former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman/lead singer, has added his own project to the soundtrack, a song titled “Breathe”. Great, great song, which only means the movie will be that much better.. I mean, I have been freakin’ stoked to see this movie, and have had no idea that the production team would be pulling together such amazing music for it.

Is it me, or does this song belong to the Garden State soundtrack… it would have fit in perfectly if it was written in 2004. A very peaceful song done by Perfume Genius, but not quite getting the video… he hangs out with his mom, leads her down some mysterious road, almost as if it were a horror film with happy indie rock music… check it out.

We previewed the song last month, and now have “Live To Rise” in full length for you, from the soundtrack for this summers hit movie The Avengers. It’s as if Soundgarden never broke up, they sound as amazing as ever… and hope to hear some more good rock from them in the near future. Listen to “Live To Rise” below.
