Official Slaughterhouse Video for “Hammer Dance”

Slaughterhouse with dope new video taken from footage at one of their shows during SXSW. It’s also pretty damn cool that they decided to use me, yes, your very own Felix the Hat, in the beginning of the video. Another Live Music City sighting at SXSW 2012.

Murs and Dee-1 come to the West Coast

Definitely a show worth checking out if  it’s coming to a town near you. Murs will give a dope performance and I’ve wanted to see Dee-1 ever since I sat with him at the “From the Blocks to Blogs” panel at SXSW, stand up dude.

White Fence release a non-album song “Green Balloon”

Pretty damn psychedelic, almost imagine if the Beatles were sped up in time, to about today, but never aged… this is maybe what they would sound like. Heavy doses of screeching guitar solo, with trippy samples that remind me of Sgt. Peppers or Magical Mystery Tour. Looking forward to checking more of White Fence’s music soon.

Beck does “Corrina, Corrina” for Christy Turlington Burns’ upcoming compilation album, ‘Every Mother Counts 2012′

A great rendition of “Corrina, Corrina” recorded by Beck. Yes, that’s right, two Beck releases in one week. Christy Turlington Burns is putting together a compilation album, Every Mother Counts 2012, for her maternal-health advocacy organization Every Mother Counts. It looks to be a great compilation including some other amazing artists like Eddie Vedder, David Bowie, Lauryn Hill, Patti Smith, Sade, Coldplay, Rufus Wainwright, and Bono and the Edge.
Listen to Beck’s version of “Corrina, Corrina” here.

John Fogerty and The Black Keys cover “The Weight” at Coachella weekend 2

Great performance by John Fogerty and The Black Keys from this past weekend at Coachella, as they cover The Bands’, “The Weight”… it’s a must check out video. The video quality isn’t great, but the sound is… and don’t worry, the chick filming, rotates the camera in time for the song to start. Oh, and catch The Black Keys at Lollapalooza this summer, as well as Dan Auerbach‘s newest projects. Enjoy!

Dr. Dog rocked the UC Berkeley campus Cal Day 4/21, 2012

Finally I had the opportunity to see the amazing Dr. Dog live in concert. I happened to be in the bay area for the celebration this past Friday, April 20, at Golden Gate Park (San Francisco), when I got a call from my middle brother Levi, that the next day, Dr. Dog was giving a free show on UC Berkeley campus… well, I had to stick around for this, since I hadn’t seen them yet, and on top of that who can pass up a free show?!?

“Shadow People”
(sorry for the sound quality)

The sunburn was worth it! From beginning to end, the members of Dr. Dog continued to entertain the crowd of cheerful fans as everyone sang along to their psychedelic, spirit lifting music.

I Can’t wait to catch them again at Outside Lands this summer, August 10-12 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. See you there!

Action Bronson is a “Simple Man”

Just after releasing his newest mix-tape, “Blue Chips”, Action Bronson comes at you with a new one that has that smooth, natural flow, and sick beats that keeps me listening to this lyrical genius. Check out Actions’ fresh cut track “Simple Man” below.

Here’s a bonus, an older video, “Shiraz”… some footage from around his hood…
