Back in the day, we all remember turning to VH1 for one reason, to hopefully catch a glimpse of the hottest, sexiest music videos ’till this day, Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”. Well, today Lana Del Rey, has released a video for her song “Blue Jeans”, which is the closest video in a while to come anywhere close to being as steamy as “Wicked Game”.

As we waited outside of the MtvU Woodie Awards Festival at SXSW, I could’ve sworn I was hearing a familiar voice, one that may have reflected the early years of legendary Jimmy Hendrix. Gary Clark Jr. was the band playing on stage when I entered the gates, and they immediately caught my attention, not wanting their set to end. They bring back that bluesy rock sound, with tons of ripping guitar solos. This is the type of music and band that one hopes to discover while making the trek around downtown Austin, TX., at SXSW. I highly recommend checking out these videos, and downloading more of Gary Clark Jr.’s music.

2012 is filled with new good music, and it isn’t stopping anytime soon. Michael Kiwanuka and Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys, have come together to bring music fans a damn good tune. Michael Kiwanuka’s voice has a distinguishable raspy but heavenly sound to it. He draws you in as you continue to listen to this melodic masterpiece.

Action Bronson Drops New Mix-tape, “Blue Chips”

Last week at SXSW, I had the privilege of seeing Action Bronson in concert. I hadn’t heard much of him before the show, but after experiencing this lyrical wiz, I had to get online and check out more of his work. Action Bronson, a white-rapper, from Queens, NY., teamed up with artist/producer Party Supplies to bring us a the new mix-tape Blue Chips, which fans are raving over. Blue Chips features Roc Marciano, Meyhem Lauren and Kool AD. Check out his video for ”Hookers at the Point”, which was released earlier this month. Download the mix-tape HERE
