BONNAROO, another must see music festival this summer!

This must be the summer of the best festivals ever! Yeah, I said it, ever! From the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Radiohead, not to forget PHISH, and the Beach Boys Reunion. The Tennessee Music festival was founded on Jam bands, and music for the people, rather than the hype/pop. What’s great is that you can find all genres of music being played through out the three days of festivities. Bonnaroo takes place annually in Manchester, TN., this year from June 7-10. Rock on!

Nesby Phips gives a little ‘Geto Boys’ feel to his new track “Rubenstein Bros.”, feat. Curren$y

Nesby Phips has sampled the beat from the Ghetto Boys’, “Mind Playing Tricks On ME”. It’s exciting to hear old tracks used in modern-day hip-hop, yes, the song actually goes all the way back to 1974. Isaac Hayes came out with the instrumental version, “Hung Up On My Baby” prior to the crackdown on sampling. 17 years later, in 1991, The Geto Boys released their number one hit “Mind Playing Tricks on Me”. 21 years later, the sample is still hot today, and now used in Nesby Phips newest track, “Rubenstein Bros.” featuring Curren$y, which dropped today. Listen to the original, by Hayes, as well as the Geto Boys version below.
